To Jive2004 plus light and easy plus all aliases
I made the following simple statement, posted November 24, regarding the infamous CDF letter posted on dancesportinfo.net:
When someone writes a letter he puts his name at the end in order to identify who wrote the letter. I don't think there is any one in the world who does not understand this. This is a tradition that transcends borders and cultures.
Further, if you put someone else's name to the letter without prior permission IT IS CALLED DECEPTION.
By way of rebuttal you make the ridiculous claim that because the letter didn't end with yours truly, yours sincerely or something to that effect, this then meant the names following did not mean that they were really "signatures" to the letter preceding their names.
Although it is amusing to hear these explanations, it is also a waste of everyone's time. I am therefore submitting the following which I hope will put an end to the ridiculous suggestions being brought up by jazz2004 etc that the names following the document do not mean they were involved with the document because it did not have a sentence such as yours truly etc preceding the names. You will see from what follows that even the four people that formed the CDF do not believe that.
Below is a document on the Dancesport Atlantic Association website. It says:
The following are recently received information via email. They are in the format as received: Responce to CDDSC Policy Letter Dated 31st March.doc
The beginning and end of the above document are copied below.
RESPONSE TO CDDSC POLICY LETTER DATED 31st MARCH
2006-04-15
CDDSC RULE
Adjudicators, Scrutineers and Professional Competitors who choose to register with the CDDSC Professional registry are not permitted to officiate or compete at any Championship or competition that is not sanctioned or recognized by CDDSC.
At the time this rule was formulated the Professional Organization registered professionals and the Amateur Organization registered amateurs. CDDSC has now stated
………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..IN CONCLUSION
We abhor the bullying tactics employed by a few people who are into power and control and are not dedicated to the resolution of problem and to the improvement of all aspects of dancesport in Canada.
Ann Harding-Trafford Ontario
Meryem Pearson Quebec
Jane Edgett Atlantic
Barbara Child British Columbia
This is a document sent by email to be included in the news section of the Atlantic Dancesport Association website. There is a list of names following the document. There is no Yours truly, Sincerely yours etc in between the names (signatures) and the document. According to light and easy, we therefore cannot attribute the document to the people listed who put their names to the document? But in this case they are the four persons who started the CDF and there is little doubt they signed the letter. And it is the same in the CDF letter. Neither include a yours truly etc. As indeed neither do countless other messages sent every day. That doesn't mean that the name at the end of the letter is not supposed to be the signature of the person writing the letter. Of course it is.
It is such a ridiculous argument to put forward that I hope this will finally conclusively put it to an end. There is no doubt that the intent of the letter was to state that the list of individuals who signed the letter were in agreement with the statements made.
In the CDF letter it became obvious long ago that the individuals who purportedly signed the letter were not consulted beforehand. This was giving information under false pretences. To answer Sambatogo - is this criminal fraud? Depending on the circumstances, it could be. However its importance is that it exposes the ethics of the CDF. Or should I say lack of ethics as it appears DECEPTION is quite acceptable to them.
