Edita Daniute announced today that she is retiring from competitive dancing.

She was recently dancing with Mirko Gozzoli (see their profile) and previously with Arunas Bizokas (see their profile) with both partners achieving top of the dance world.

She send a message to all DancesportInfo readers: I want to thank you all for the beautiful dancing world. I am going to enjoy the work that I love and continue to compete emotionally together with my couples

Good luck Edita, it's a shame we will not see you on the floor anymore.

Edita's retirement announcement is a shock to me.

She danced at Asia Open Championship in Tokyo on February 26.  MIrko and Edita won the 2nd place followed by Arunas & Katusha.  Mirko & Edita was leading in Tango over Arunas & Katusha.  And in Quickstep, Mirko & Edita used an amazing technique to pass other 2 competitors on the floor -- Mirko releasd Edita's arms to pass over the 2 competitors and caught her arms again.   I liked it and the most of the viewers liked it but Edita did not like it (??), I guess.  She might have thought that it was too aggressive or showing off.  So, Mirko & Edita went off the floor immediately after Quickstep, and they didn't dance the ending part of greeting session.  Does anybody know the real reason of her retirement?
